The wedding DJ Interview

By Interviewer at 02/19/09 11:58

Name of your website?

The wedding DJ

Your name?

Steven Heyns

Your Location (city, etc)

Durban

Please give us a short summary of your website?

The wedding DJ is where you'll find the finest wedding DJ's in Natal. Our DJ's have years of experience and we only refer DJ's who we feel 120% comfortable with.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

The Website is an extension of our business, our offices really as this is a mobile business.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

My first website www.stevenheyns.co.za was launched in 2007, I created the website to promote my services as a wedding DJ.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

The name of the site is the same as our business name, very unimaginative but effective.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

Our service differentiates us, the wedding Dj market is renown for it's unreliability, we are proud of thee level of professionalism we maintain.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

My eventual goal is to be the premier wedding DJ agency in Durban.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

the time and effort that I've put back into my business has really paid off. Nothing is accomplished without hard work and dedication, but over and above this, it really helps if you love what you do.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I am fairly happy with my website currently but a lot of work is still needed on www.theweddingdj.co.za, I enjoy web design though and prefer to work on the project by myself.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes, I have built up a big network of DJ's in Durban to keep up with the demand.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Even professional equipment fails from time to time.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Promoting my website on the internet.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

By far, Google Ad words

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

I never thought that I would enjoy it this much.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

For as long as I'm able to carry speakers. The agency will continue though.

What is your favourite hobby?

Being a wedding DJ,

What is your website address?

The wedding DJ
